Postdoctoral position available at University of Rochester, New York
A postdoctoral position in influenza/arenavirus/Zika molecular biology, virology and immunology is available in the laboratory of Luis Martinez-Sobrido (https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/labs/martinez-sobrido.aspx) in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology (https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/microbiology-immunology.aspx) at University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester (https://www.rochester.edu/), New York.
Our laboratory is a member of the New York Influenza Center of Excellence (NYICE,https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/nyice.aspx), which is part of the NIAID Centers of Excellence in Influenza Research and Surveillance (CEIRS,http://www.niaidceirs.org/) network. Our research interest focuses on the molecular biology and in the evasion of the innate immune response by viruses, mainly influenza, arenavirus and Zika (https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/people/27220917-luis-martinez-sobrido).
The postdoctoral fellow will work with a vibrant and international collaborative group of virologist and immunologist in direct interaction/collaboration with other virologist and immunologist at University of Rochester and other Universities. Ideal candidates should have training and experience in molecular biology, immunology and virology as well as communication skills and able to write efficiently in English.
The position is available for 12 months initially with the possibility of renewal for more years, depending on the performance.
